The new iRouter Pro - Atlas i60 - breaks with the traditional concept of a router totally centered on communications and consequently of limited added value. Thanks to its powerful dual core hardware permitting two Operating Systems to efficiently and safely coexist, the iRouter spearheads a new generation of routers and opens new horizons.
The iRouter Pro - Atlas i60 - continues to follow the very successful Atlas module router line, inheriting its advanced networking characteristics, modularity, security and management, using the same software as all the Teldat routers (CIT) plus offering the possibility of executing user applications over an open source Linux system where both Operating Systems, without compromising the router’s capacity, can successfully reside in the same hardware using the different CPU cores.
This means the routers can be used in very different and innovative ways as a server for example for certain applications, eliminating dedicated server costs for branches, and also combining management and maintenance with the consequential operating and economical benefits.
Because of its modularity, the iRouter Pro - Atlas i60 - can be incorporated in multiple network scenarios; ADSL2+, VDSL2, Gigabit, E1/T1, Wifi, 3G, etc., or integrated with Telephony over IP architectures such as public analog or digital network connections (BRI/PRI) resulting in speeds of more than 100 Mbps.
iRouter Pro - Atlas i60 - Key features
Double Core CPU
The real heart of the iRouter is its powerful duel core processor where one core deals with communications by using the Teldat Operating System (CIT - Teldat Internetworking Code) and the other is free to use any other application the user wishes to install.
Open source Linux (Debian) system available
To simplify the migration of applications to the iRouter Pro - Atlas i60 - , a well known Operating System, open and stable has been used. This Operating System is a free standard Debian distribution which resides in the internal flash memory and occupies 4GB. For applications that require more capacity, a SATA internal hard disk can be installed.
Power
You only require one CPU core that uses CIT to enable the iRouter Pro - Atlas i60 - to reach switching speeds of up to 100mbps. This also includes specific encryption hardware to ensure that the communications security doesn’t compromise scalability.
Modularity
The iRouter’s modularity fully complements the powerful switching ability enabling it to adapt to a wide variety of scenarios and configurations. In the LAN, the iRouter Pro - Atlas i60 - can create up to 16 Fast Ethernet ports (8 being PoE) and a WiFi-n access point thus satisfying the needs of the majority of branches. With the WAN, in addition to the Gigabit Ethernet ports and ADSL2+, two 3G/4G connectivity options are possible (integrated with a double internal/external SIM tray or 3G/USB modem), as well as a “PMC” (PCI Mezzanine Card) slot. This highly successful technology is based on standards allowing you to use PMC cards, either manufactured by Teldat or by third parties, when the corresponding control software has been previously implemented in Teldat.
Advanced routing and Telephony over IP
A powerful and advanced hardware requires versatile and efficient software and it is here the iRouter Pro - Atlas i60 - really stands out with its functionalities thanks to the CIT, Teldat’s very successful tried and tested Operating System which has held up in the most demanding of environments and which incorporates a full complement of routing features (RIP2, OSPF, BGP4, VRF, Policy, VRF, IGMP…), Quality of Service (PQ, LLQ, CBWFQ, …), Security (Firewall, IPSec, GETVPN, NGRP, Digital Certificates,…), Telephony (SIP –B2B- server and client and H323, survival to Skinny and Alcatel telephony and a wide range of possibilities such as Media Gateway with SIP, H323 and MGCP protocols) or Management (SNMPv3, telnet, ssh, ftp,…).
