Heat transfer is a crucial part of how any electronic equipment works. When devices are operating, their internal components generate heat, and that heat needs to be dissipated in a controlled way. Doing so ensures safe and reliable operation, helps maintain optimal...
Regesta Smart PLC v2 Communications Gateway
Introduction
The Regesta Smart PLC v2 family is designed to secure critical communications at the core of modern Smart Grids, integrating PLC (Power Line Communications) technology and advanced IP connectivity in a single device. It's designed for 24x7 operation in remote and unattended locations, ensuring continuous service in critical environments.
It incorporates essential security capabilities for the power sector, including traffic encryption, access control, and the ability to enable signature-based monitoring of ICS protocols, ensuring the integrity of operational data and mitigating risks targeting control infrastructures.
Competitive Advantages
Multiple access technologies like LTE and GigabitEthernet, combined with SD-WAN for centralized control, secure traffic steering and resilient connectivity.
Adaptable hardware design for unattended installations, with extended temperature range (-20ºC to 70ºC) and electrical/electromagnetic immunity.
Enables direct communication with PLC-based smart meters. Delivers PLC base node and advanced networking communications in a single device.
Integrated OT-focused security with SCADA traffic signatures, anomaly detection and hardened communications for resilient Smart Grid operations.
Description
The platform ensures maximum performance and security in multiservice communications through the simultaneous use of 2G/3G/LTE, fiber and Ethernet, combined with redundancy mechanisms, continuous supervision and automatic recovery. In addition, compatibility with the Teldat SDโWAN solution enables corporate policies for management, security and network segmentation to be extended seamlessly into the OT environment, providing a unified and simplified operation from the control center to the distribution network edge.
The Regesta Smart PRO v2 family delivers comprehensive encryption, authentication and access control, ensuring protected communications in missionโcritical environments. It also incorporates the ability to enable signatures for SCADA traffic monitoring, allowing detection of anomalous patterns in telecontrol protocols and strengthening security across the electrical system.
Combined with SNMP management tools from Teldat or third parties, and with autoโprovisioning capabilities he platform facilitates largeโscale deployments and highly efficient operation in distributed Smart Grid environments.
Key Features
Regesta Smart PLC v2 router features 3 Gigabit Ethernet ports (2 x 10/100/1000 BASE-T + 1 x SFP), all of them configurable as LAN/WAN interface.
The routers are certified for use in electrical environments with EMC, isolation, immunity, electrical, climatic and mechanical certificates.
Regesta Smart PLC v2 housing is designed for optimal heat dissipation, guaranteeing operation between -20ºC and 70ºC with up to 93% humidity. It can be mounted on a DIN rail or wall.
ENS Category High Certification and Approved level for National Security & NATO-classified projects, ensure compliance with stringent security requirements needed in Smart Grids and other critical infrastructures.
Data from the serial port can be transparently encapsulated with IP. The "IEC-101 to IEC-104 gateway" function also allows IEC-101 RTUs to be maintained and central management software to migrate to IEC-104.
PRIME PLC interface with base and service node operation. It supports up to 2000 PLC smart meters, with topology discovery and firmware updates. Compatible with both PRIME 1.3 and 1.4 versions.
Embedded 2G/3G/4G interface with dual SIM card tray for automatic backups. Advanced Teldat system for proactive monitoring and automatic recovery from WWAN incidents.
Up to 3 serial interfaces (RS-232, RS-485) with SCADA protocols support, provide flexibility to connect to industrial meters, RTUs and other control devices.
Native integration with Teldat’s SD-WAN solution, extending segmentation, security and traffic prioritization policies to the OT edge with centralized management.
The console port simplifies remote installation and troubleshooting, while the optional Dying Gasp sends a final alert on power loss to ensure continuity in Smart Grid operations.
