Teldat has participated in the Salud 5G pilot project promoted by Telefonica and coordinated with SERGAS (the Galician Healthcare Service) by providing its 5G Fixed Wireless Access solution. The pilot project has been implemented in Taboada (Lugo) and is aimed at offering wireless coverage in the town’s health center and surroundings, thus guaranteeing healthcare in rural areas.
The solution is ideal for rural environments since cabling is no longer necessary to establish reliable and safe connections. The health center benefits from higher quality connectivity without having to install fiber. This saves costs and guarantees healthcare, by being able to electronically access patient records or the electronic prescription system.

Teldat’s 5G Fixed Wireless Access solution includes the first 5G corporate router on the market, the Teldat M8Smart-5G. This router is ideal for solving connectivity challenges in remote locations and has all the routing and security functionalities required by a communications network such as the Galician Healthcare Service (SERGAS). Additionally, the router has the ability to become a 5G backup line.
The configuration of this solution is an evolution of the one used in 4G routers, so it facilitates new 5G router installations by simplifying and optimizing the deployment of customer networks.
